Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ZeroNihongo mobile application ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using ZeroNihongo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Use of the App

ZeroNihongo is provided for personal, non-commercial use to help you learn Japanese. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Account Registration

Some features require signing in via Firebase Authentication (including Google Sign-In, phone number, or guest sign-in). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

3. AI-Generated Content

The AI Tutor, AI-generated quizzes, and Grammar Playground assistant use an automated AI system to generate explanations, questions, and feedback. While we aim for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or imprecise translations. Use your own judgment and cross-reference with other resources when in doubt.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
  • Use the app to send abusive, unlawful, or harmful content through the AI features.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Use automated means to scrape or overload our services.

5. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, mascot artwork, lesson content, and branding, is owned by ZeroNihongo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the app's content without permission.

6. Service Availability

We aim to keep ZeroNihongo available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features that depend on third-party services (such as the AI Tutor) may be temporarily unavailable due to factors outside our control.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that using the app will result in any particular level of language proficiency.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZeroNihongo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
